Two park rangers rescued an Indiana man Tuesday at about 7 p.m.

Matt Martin, 27, was camping when he slid 30 yards down a snowfield and broke his leg, according to a Rocky Mountain National Park news release.

A call came in to rangers about 5 p.m. that an emergency beacon had been activated near Lost Lake, in the northeast section of the park.

A ranger and a medic flew with a helicopter crew to the general area and spotted Martin and his companions.

He was flown back to the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center, then taken by ambulance to Estes Park Medical Center.
