NEW YORK — In one of the largest viral video ad campaign ever launched, Old Spice is swarming YouTube.
Over two days, the brand uploaded about 185 videos featuring the campaign’s star, ex-football player Isaiah Mustafa. In the videos, he responds to online comments from Web users, including Ellen DeGeneres, George Stephanopoulos and Alyssa Milano.
One request came from Johannes S. Beals: “Can U Ask my girlfriend to marry me?” In a video, Mustafa holds up a ring and asks her to make Beals “the happiest man in the world and marry him.” Less then four hours after sending the initial message over Twitter, Beals reported in another message, “SHE SAID YES!!!!”
The videos, all of which feature Mustafa in a towel, have received a total of more than 21 million views. Denver Post wire services
