A break in a 8-inch water main beneath Grape Street will leave 14 homes without water for 5-to-8 hours while repairs are made, according to Stacy Chesney of Denver Water.

The break occurred about noon today in front of 220 S. Grape St., according to Chesney.

Thirteen of the 14 homes are on Grape with the 14th on East Cedar Avenue.

Immediately after the break, water ran down Grape, temporarily closing Grape between East Cedar Avenue and East Alameda Avenue.

However, Chesney said crews have since shut off the water and that all but three homeowners on Grape should be able to get into their driveways.
