Investigators say illegal fireworks started a fire that destroyed part of a new playground at a Greeley elementary school.
Fire investigators think someone playing with fireworks ignited the playground’s bed of dry wood chips Sunday. Some of the playground equipment caught fire.
The Greeley-Evans School District spent $100,000 this summer on the playground at Scott Elementary School. Principal Blakely Wallace said the playground likely won’t be ready for school’s start. The Associated Press
