A man wounded by Denver police early Sunday has been identified as 25-year-old Daniel Alderete. His grandfather, Filberto Alderete, 62, is being held for investigation of first-degree murder.
Denver Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said Alderete is in fair condition at a hospital.
The two were taken into custody near 3436 W. 18th Ave. after police responded to a call and found Daniel Alderete allegedly holding a gun.
When he refused to put it down, an officer shot Alderete.
Filberto Alderete was taken into custody for allegedly shooting and killing Jesus Sifuentes Jr., 36.
