Republic Airways announced Wednesday it has signed a letter of intent with Embraer to acquire 24 new Embraer 190 jets with the option to convert the aircraft to the larger Embraer 195.
Deliveries would begin in mid-2011 and would be used on routes from Denver, Milwaukee and Kansas City, Mo. Republic officials said the larger, more economical aircraft will allow smaller regional jets to be replaced.
