GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A call center in Grand Junction that announced the layoff of 33 workers three weeks ago is adding up to 100 positions at a second center in the city.
Jason Crowell of StarTek said Wednesday that the Denver-based company won a new contract from a current client. He says people affected by the planned layoffs will be eligible to apply for the new jobs. Their current jobs will end by Aug. 31.
Crowell says many of the employees facing layoffs likely will end up at the call center where the work is being expanded. He says employees do different work at the two sites.
