BROOMFIELD, Colo.—The Broomfield City Council is poised to become the latest city to ban medical marijuana dispensaries.
The City Council is scheduled Tuesday to vote on an ordinance that would ban businesses selling or growing medical marijuana as well as ones that make tinctures, baked goods or other “marijuana-infused products.”
A public hearing is scheduled before Tuesday’s vote. The council initially approved the ordinance at its July 13 meeting on a 5-4 vote.
Superior and Vail last month were among the first cities to permanently ban marijuana dispensaries after the Colorado Legislature granted municipalities authority to outlaw such businesses.
