I got to meet (a.k.a. Sean Scolnick) before his set in Boulder on Thursday, a very sweet and confident man who even bought me a drink. The Pennsylvania- born singer-songwriter’s confidence only tripled on stage.

Slim was nothing but personable and owned his little performance mistakes, speckling his performance with funny, relatable poetic stories of love.

It wasn’t jam-packed, but crowded enough, with much energy even through his slower songs, many of which seemed to blend together. Really, he kept the audience in his palm the whole time, though it might have been smoother to have a few less songs during the encore and added to the regular set. In the end, he proclaimed his intent to return to Boulder, and the audience — sweaty and satisfied from dancing — seemed happy to have him back.
