An SUV towing a camper trailer hit two cars on northbound Interstate 25 at Ridgegate Parkway about 8:20 a.m. causing the trailer to flip, blocking all northbound lanes.
Michelle Kivela, spokeswoman for Lone Tree, said the occupants of the SUV and the other two vehicles received only minor injuries.
She said the accident occurred when the SUV slammed into the cars stopped on northbound I-25 because of traffic congestion.
All three lanes re-opened at 9:46 a.m., said Kivela.
Mark Aultman, spokesman for Colorado Department of Transportation traffic operations, said the accident caused major delays with traffic backing up four miles on northbound I-25.
