Colorodans on June 1, 2009, began paying fees for registering their vehicles late. The previous late fee was $10, which some counties waived. The fee now is mandatory in most instances and ranges from $25 to $100. Counties get to keep the first $10 of any late fee collected, and the rest goes to the state to pay for transportation. Here’s how major counties fared the first 12 months the increase was in -ffect:
