The Colorado Symphony will release single tickets for its 2010-2011 season on Monday, including a robust pops program and various world-renowned classical performers. Highlights of the season, which runs from September through June, are performances from famed soprano Kathleen Battle, violinist Itzhak Perlman and Broadway luminary Idina Menzel. And besides tributes to Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley, the pops program will also bring in pop/rock artists such as Elvis Costello, Ben Folds, Brandi Carlile and Airborne Toxic Event, plus movie and holiday music, family programming and more. Sufjan Stevens is either brilliant or pretentious, depending on your love for fussed-over, vaguely experimental, complex songwriting that puts thoughtful melodies front and center. Beloved by critics and the indie set but rarely on the touring circuit, the Detroit-born artist will visit the Paramount Theatre on Nov. 2 for what’s sure to be a sold-out show. Bad Religion’s status as punk elder statesmen is unquestionable — even if the band’s lately not been as visible as it has at various times over the last 30 years. It visits the Fillmore Auditorium on Nov. 12 to promote its 15th studio album, “The Dissent of Man,” with openers Bouncing Souls and Off With Their Heads. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. Blues Traveler is headlining what organizers are dubbing “the poor man’s Mile High Music Fest” at Glendale’s Infinity Park on Saturday, part of a promotional “motoring event” for Mini Cooper cars that also includes performances by Rayland Baxter, Fox Street All Stars, 18 South and the Pat McLaughlin Band. Trans-Siberian Orchestra is charging back into town for its annual holiday music extravaganza at the Pepsi Center on Dec. 22, an over- the-top spectacle that is part of Trans-Siberian’s 80-plus-city North American tour. Prices and on-sale dates have yet to be announced, but you can visit or for updates.

Roseanne Barr, a comedian who got her start in Denver, and veteran stand-up Louie Anderson will play a benefit for Historic Georgetown’s 40th-anniversary show Sept. 10 at the Central City Opera House. The festivities will include food, drink and live music. ($40-$150, )
