The teenager accused of killing a Monument tire store employee Monday claimed he was defending his brother and father, although he admitted never seeing the victim with a weapon, according to the arrest affidavit in the fatal shooting.
Logan McClelland, 18, of Como, confessed to the killing less than an hour after Bradley Blehm, 50, was gunned down Monday afternoon in the parking lot of Big O Tires.
“I killed him, I shot him,” McClelland said. “I had to keep shooting till he went down. I had to do it.”
The affidavit stated that Blehm did not have a weapon in his hand and no weapon was found on him. McClelland’s account, however, changed each time he told the story, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office affidavit stated.
When told that his story and his father’s didn’t match, McClelland shouted that his father was “a liar” who was “trying to cover his own (expletive).” Jakob Rogers, The Gazette
