The Como teen accused of killing a tire store employee Monday in Monument said he shot the man to protect his family, though admitted never actually seeing the employee pull out a weapon, according to a court affidavit released Wednesday.
Logan McClelland, 18, confessed to the killing less than an hour after Bradley Blehm, 50, was gunned down Monday afternoon in the parking lot of Big O Tires at 650 Highway 105. He has been charged with first-degree murder.
The account of what happened, however, changed with each time he told the story.
