CHIEF MOUNTAIN, Mont.—U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials in Montana say they have arrested a 28-year-old Colorado man accused of deserting the U.S. Army.
Officials say Eric Wagner of Lakewood, Colo., was taken into custody Wednesday at the Chief Mountain port of entry into Glacier National Park.
Customs spokeswoman Lynn Shozoda says officers checked his identification and found he was the subject of a National Crime Information Center warrant for military desertion. U.S. Army Deserter Information Point confirmed his status to border protection. An official there did not return a phone message Thursday seeking further information.
Wagner was turned over to the Glacier County sheriff’s department and jailed in Cut Bank pending extradition back to the Army’s custody.
