DENVER—The process to name replacements for judges leaving the Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court is under way.

A nominating commission was meeting Monday and Tuesday to interview and select possible candidates to replace Sean Connelly on the appeals court. His provisional term ends in January. The commission met last week to review applications.

Next week, the commission will interview applicants for a vacancy on the Colorado Supreme Court. Chief Justice Mary J. Mullarkey announced in June that she would retire at the end of November.

The commission will recommend names to the governor, who would appoint the new judges.
