FORT WORTH, Texas — Military supervisors must have access to soldiers’ personnel records and be aware of signs of potential workplace violence, the Defense Department said Friday in its final report on the Fort Hood shootings.
The report addresses some government failures and other problems uncovered in the Pentagon investigation launched after the Nov. 5 shootings, which left 13 dead and dozens injured on the Army post in Texas.
In some cases, the final report does not provide specific guidance on how to change, update or clarify policies but says they should comply with certain military policies and codes.
