RTD will hold public hearings next month to discuss a proposed fare increase starting January and is asking for the public’s input.

The proposed increases include 25 cent increases for local fares, 50 cent increases for Express and Regional fares, and $1 increase for skyRide fares.

RTD said it has seen a drop in sales tax revenue which is the main source of funding.

The RTD Board of Directors is scheduled to vote for the fare increases in late October.

Two meetings in Denver will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 16 at the Park Hill Golf club, 4141 E. 35th Avenue, and at RTD Headquarters, 1600 Blake St.

Two additional meetings will be held in Denver at 6 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 23 at Quigg Newton Senior Center, 4430 Navajo St., and at noon on Friday Sept. 24 at RTD Headquarters, 1600 Blake Street.
