A 22-year-old Colorado Springs man has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse.
Trevor M. Williams was arrested Thursday on a felony child abuse warrant, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter.
Officers were called Aug.4 to Memorial Hospital Central to investigate a 7-month-old boy who had been taken to the hospital in an “emaciated” state, police said.
“Officers determined the incident to be a possible felony child abuse situation due to the serious condition of the infant,” according to the blotter.
Detectives from the department’s crimes against children unit continued the investigation leading to Williams’ arrest. He was held Thursday at the El Paso County Jail.
The boy remains in a Colorado Springs hospital where he is recovering, police said.
