A 10-year-old boy who had just gone swimming at the Ridge Recreation Center in Jefferson County was sexually assaulted Saturday while dressing in the men’s locker room, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

The suspect is believed to be in his late teens to mid-20s and is described as a white male with a dark tan or possibly a Latino, said Mark Tech meyer, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect is described as being 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall.

This is the second sex assault reported this year at the center, 6613 S. Ward St., west of Littleton.

Techmeyer said a 16-year-old boy was assaulted at the Ridge in April. He said investigators are not sure whether the two incidents are related.

Anyone with information about a possible suspect or information that may aid in the investigation is asked to call the sheriff’s tip line at 303-271-5612.
