Cunningham Fire Rescue will honor heroes in three recent emergencies, two near drownings and an auto accident, during a ceremony Thursday night at the fire department’s headquarters in Arapahoe County.
The honorees include Katie Fogan, Layne Bradbury and Jessica Evans, who collectively pulled a young girl from the Piney Creek Pool in Centennial and resuscitated her with CPR before emergency crews arrived on June 17.
The fire department will also honor Marcus Giavanni, who pulled a young boy from the Alton Park Pool in unincorporated Arapahoe County on June 20.
In the third case, Roger Berube and Patricia Ketchum, both of whom have medical training, were the first to help a group of injured people in a two-car crash on June 22 at South Picadilly Street and South Riviera Way in Centennial.
They continued to assist after medical emergency crews arrived, according to the fire department.
