Accused child molester Benjamin Janicki was in court this morning to hear charges that he assaulted a fourth child.

Janicki, 19, was arrested Aug. 4 and charged with assault on three other children while he was working at Park Hill United Methodist Children’s Center.

Last week, the Denver district attorney’s office filed charges against him for allegations in a fourth case.

Janicki was a summer hire at the day-care center, which served 125 families.

He remains in jail on $550,000 bond.

The Denver District Attorney’s office on Tuesday released a mug shot of Janicki for the first time since his arrest. It had been held back to allow time for an investigation to take place that involves questioning children at the center.

Any additional investigative work will not be compromised by the release of the picture, said Denver DA spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough. “It is less likely, but not impossible,” that other charges could be filed, she said.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Sept. 8.
