It’s time to head to the Pueblo for the Colorado State Fair, opening Friday. There’ll be rodeos, monster-truck shows, blue-ribbon steers and, more important, lots to eat. Can you say green chile?

A Taste of Colorado takes over Civic Center on Labor Day weekend, Sept. 3-6. Dozens of restaurants and food vendors from around town will be offering treats from grilled corn to popcorn, cheesesteaks to cheese enchiladas. Live music, art and more. Come and pig out.

With more on-air television hours logged than almost anyone in the world (he’s been on TV for nearly 50 years), Regis Philbin is known as much for his passion for Notre Dame football as his out-of-control demeanor. Maybe he’s got a Notre Dame Pick-Me-Up in that coffee mug? The king is 77 today.
Notre Dame Pick-Me-Up
Makes 1.
Ingredients
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce light rum
1 ounce triple sec
2 ounces orange juice
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
Ginger ale
Ice cubes
Directions
Stir together vodka, rum, triple sec, orange juice and sugar in a tall glass. Add ice cubes, top with ginger ale, stir and drink.
