Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children won’t open its doors today as planned. Hospital officials said the opening will be delayed because of a lack of documentation from state inspectors.
The new hospital, part of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center east of downtown Denver, now won’t open until after Labor Day, hospital officials said.
In an e-mail to staff, chief executive Mimi Roberson said the delay was “out of an abundance of caution and with total respect to integrity of patient safety.”
The new four-story, 53-bed hospital will specialize in emergency, neonatal and minimally invasive surgeries for kids.
