Tropical Storm Hermine — downgraded from hurricane status after it hit shore last weekend in northern Mexico and southern Texas — is playing havoc with airlines serving a number of Texas cities and destinations in Mexico.

Continental Airlines announced today that storm conditions are forcing delays and cancellations at airports such as San Antonio, Corpus Christi and its Houston hub.

Customers on Continental flights impacted by the storm may through Wednesday change their itineraries once without penalty.

United and American also announced travel waivers in Texas cities.

Southwest Airlines “is keeping a watchful eye” on the storm, according to its website. No major operations impacts were anticipated, though the airline said service could be interrupted. Customers with reservations for travel through Corpus Christi and Harlingen through tonight are eligible to reschedule their flights.
