A man hauling computer printers in a trailer early this morning crashed in a construction zone, spilling the load onto the street and triggering his arrest.
Tracy Beardsley, 44, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and numerous traffic violations, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter.
The incident happened at about 2:20 a.m. near Bijou and Stanford streets, police said.
Beardsley was driving a pickup truck towing an open trailer loaded with printers when the truck hit numerous road signs, police said.
The rear axle of the trailer was “ripped off,” causing the trailer to tip and launching dozens of printers into the street.
Bijou Street was closed in both directions for more than two hours as police investigated the crash and the mess was cleaned up.
