KETTERING, Ohio — Police say a woman who couldn’t afford to fix her car’s brakes ran a red light and crashed into a school bus carrying elementary school children home in western Ohio. Police Lt. Bill Karolyi said one child was hospitalized as a precaution following the Thursday afternoon crash in Kettering, a Dayton suburb with about 60,000 residents. He said the driver of the car had her adult son as a passenger and both also went to a hospital.
