A man who had been employed by a family in Evergreen to clean their house for four years, pleaded guilty today to kidnapping the woman who lived there.

Joel M. Herrin, 44, pleaded guilty to kidnapping and attempted sexual assault, both felonies.

On the morning of Dec. 29, 2009 , Herrin started cleaning the Evergreen home, but then forced the 44-year-old woman into a bedroom where he handcuffed her hands and feet, according to a release from the First Judical District Attorney’s Office.

Herrin then took the woman to his home in Kittredge.

After the woman did not show up to pick up the children from school at 3 p.m., her husband called the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies went to Herrin’s home where he turned himself in.

Herrin is expected to be sentenced to 30 years in prison and five years parole on Dec. 3 in Jefferson County District Court. He will also have to register as a sex offender after he completes his sentence.
