BOULDER, Colo.—The Swedish-based telecommunications technology company Ericsson plans to cut 150 positions from its 180-employee office in Boulder in coming months.
Company officials told the staff Tuesday that cuts were for budget and efficiency reasons.
Ericsson spokesman Jimmy Duvall tells the Camera newspaper that the employees being cut report to company headquarters in Sweden and that their work is moving to other locations. He says the remaining employees work with North American customers.
Duvall says affected employees could be transferred elsewhere in the company, which has about 87,000 employees worldwide.
Herb Quick, a human resources consultant for the company, told the newspaper that no one would be cut before Nov. 20.
