The victim of a fatal hit-and-run traffic incident in Denver was identified today.
Patrick Acree, 59, was hit by sedan at about 5:30 a.m. Monday while crossing West Alameda Avenue near Zuni Street.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner identified Acree this afternoon. The cause of death was “blunt force trauma.”
Acree died at about 10:45 p.m. Monday at Denver Health Medical Center.
Investigators describe the suspect car as a medium- to dark-colored Buick Century between the model years of 1991 to 1996, said Sonny Jackson, a Denver Police Department spokesman.
The car could have some front-end damage on the passenger side, perhaps a broken turn signal lens, and perhaps some damage on the hood, Jackson said.
The driver, who did not stop, faces possible felony charges for leaving the scene, police said.
