An Erie man has been arrested after Lafayette officers saw him commit a sex act in “plain view” of elementary school students on a playground, police said.
The incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday near Pioneer Elementary School, 101 E. Baseline Road, according to a Lafayette Police Department media release.
Police observed a “possible known sex offender” parked near the school and began monitoring the man, the release said.
Officers watched as the man drove his vehicle from the west side of the school to an alley on the east side within 100-feet of the school playground, police said.
The man got out of his vehicle and performed a sex act in “plain view” of children, police said.
The suspect was arrested and identified as Joshua Michel Goodman, 29, of Erie.
Goodman is being held at the Boulder County Jail on suspicion of indecent exposure and public indecency.
