*** | Robert Downey Jr. is in flashy form as billionaire Tony Stark in a sequel a bit too crammed with characters and a bit too light on ideas for its own narrative good. It’s fun but jumbled. We’d have liked more of Ivan Vanko, Mickey Rourke’s arc-cracking villain. PG. 2 hours, 4 minutes. Lisa Kennedy
“Get Him to the Greek”
*** 1/2 | Asked to name a randy comedy with heart and smarts, it would be “Greek” to me. Written and directed by Nicholas Stoller (“Forgetting Sarah Marshall”), this romp finds incongruously moving chemistry in Jonah Hill as a 24-year-old record exec and Russell Brand as the fallen rock god who Hill is tasked with escorting from London to L.A. for an anniversary concert. Good luck with that, young man. Sean Combs, Rose Byrne and Daphne Moss add to the ensemble’s rauchy pleasures. R. 1 hour, 30 minutes. Lisa Kennedy
“Frozen”
* 1/2 | Through some fault of their own, 20-somethings Dan (Kevin Zegers), girlfriend Parker (Emma Bell) and pal Joe (Shawn Ashmore) wind up stuck on a ski chairflift with the night bearing down, the temperature dropping and predators aprowl. There’s something intriguingly spare about having the three suspended above a snowy field. How would Samuel Beckett have written this drama? But writer-director Adam Green’s script is clunky, the acting strained. Too bad. Underlying this life-and- death chiller are some fine notions about the ways coupledom changes and challenges friendship. R. 1 hour, 34 minutes. Lisa Kennedy
