Longmont police are looking for a man who entered the First American Cash Advance at 1240 Ken Pratt Blvd. this morning and held up two female employees at gunpoint.
The suspected robber entered the store about 9:30 a.m., displayed a handgun and forced the two women into a backroom where he threatened their lives, said Longmont police Cmdr. Tim Lewis. He pushed them around and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and both women’s purses, Lewis said.
Another person was driving the getaway car — a brown 1990s model Honda sedan with obvious rust — but his description isn’t known.
The suspected robber is described as a dark skinned Hispanic male or a light skinned black male, about 30 years old, medium build, short dark hair and about 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was clean shaven and wearing a dark colored zip-up hooded jacket and blue jeans, according to Lewis.
The store does not have any protective dividers between the employees and the customers, Lewis said. Although the incident happened about 9:30 a.m. and the women pressed the alarm about the same time, Lewis said, the private alarm company waited 10 minutes to call police.
“Some times they take a lot longer than we would like,” he said.
