Colorado Department of Transportation will be hanging two large road signs on Saturday and will close westbound Arapahoe Road during the installment.

Both signs will be installed between Dayton Street and Boston Street/Clinton Street, just east of Interstate 25. Because of the size of the signs, the work will require a full closure of westbound Arapahoe Road between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday.

During the closure, CDOT reccomends drivers turn right onto Dayton Street and take Dayton Street north to Caley Avenue. Once on Caley Avenue, travel west to Yosemite Street and turn left. Take Yosemite Street south to Arapahoe Road, where access to westbound Arapahoe or northbound and southbound I-25 is available.

The work is part of a safety and capacity improvement project on Arapahoe Road between Yosemite Street and Boston/Clinton Street that adds an additional through lane in each direction of Arapahoe Road, according to a release from CDOT.

CDOT also reminds drivers to always obey construction signs and flaggers.
