Denver International Airport medical teams are investigating a flight arriving from Puerto Vallarta, Mex., with a child that may be suffering from a contagious disease.
Airport spokeswoman Sally Covington , in a recorded statement, said that Frontier Airlines flight 64 was arriving from Puert Vallarta around 4:45 p.m with a person “with a potentially contagious disease.” The flight left Puerto Vallarta around 2:30 p.m.
“We do have an ill child on board. The flight has landed in Denver and paramedics are on board assessing the child,” said Frontier spokeswoman Lindsey Purves .
Denver Health spokeswoman Betty Rueda said the patient was possibly suffering from hand, foot and mouth disease, which is contagious and causes, among other things, a skin rash.
Denver Health paramedics had evacuated the plane but had not transported anyone to the hospital.
“And it appears they are not going to transport anybody,” Rueda said.
