A Denver sheriff’s deputy was charged with sexual assault on a child Thursday, and additional charges will be filed today alleging a second victim.
Mark Davis, 58, was charged with four counts of sexual assault on a child, four counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, and two counts alleging the crimes were part of a pattern of abuse.
Davis is accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy in his home from August 2002 to June 2006. Today, prosecutors are expected to charge Davis with sexually abusing an 8-year-old boy from June to Sept. 27. Davis, who is on administrative leave from his job, is being held at the Jefferson County jail. His bond is set at $200,000 but is expected to rise to $500,000 with the new case. On Monday morning, Davis will appear in court for a formal advisement of the charges.
