A woman was shot in the leg late Wednesday night after getting into an argument at a Denver convenience store.
The incident started at about 11:15 p.m. when a woman, who was with a child, got into an argument with someone at a convenience store near West 1st Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, said Sonny Jackson, a Denver Police Department spokesman.
The woman left the store and was driving home when a vehicle pulled up and at least one shot was fired into her car, hitting her in the leg, Jackson said.
The injured woman was able to drive home and called police. The child was not injured.
The woman was taken to a local hospital and the injury was not life-threatening, Jackson said.
The incident is being investigated by the police department’s gang unit, Jackson said.
A description of the suspect, or suspects, and the car used in the shooting was not released.
Police did not disclose what the argument was about.
