A 59-year-old woman in Fountain fought off a man attempting to steal her truck Wedneday night, and police are still looking for the man.
The incident happened at about 8 p.m. when the woman was arriving at the American Legion and had just stepped out of her truck in the parking lot. A man jumped out in front of her from behind a trash can, according to a release from Fountain police.
The man tried to take the woman’s keys, but the woman fought him off, and the suspect ran away.
The woman suffered minor injuries.
The man is described as white, 6 feet tall, with a slim build, and gray t-shirt and blue jeans. He fled on foot northbound on Southmoor Drive.
A K9 unit attempted to find the suspect, but was unable to locate him.
