Aurora police are investigating the death of a woman found in an apartment Friday.

Officers were called to do a welfare check at an apartment at 1931 Clinton St. in Aurora about 3:30 p.m. When police arrived, they found the body of a woman.

Department spokesman Detective Bob Friel said trauma seen on the body made the death “suspicious.”

Detectives and crime-scene investigators are conducting interviews and gathering evidence.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective Hershel Stowell at 303-739-6079.
