If you’re obsessed with sharing your life in video, and equally enthusiastic about multitasking, you might want look at the Looxcie, a $199 camcorder that you wear over your ear to enable hands-free video capture.
The Looxcie connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth to record and share video. (It also doubles as a Bluetooth headset for your phone.) The Looxcie is compatible only with Android 2.0 phones, although the company says it will add compatibility with BlackBerrys and iPhones this fall.
The camera can continuously record video for up to five hours before it loops back and overwrites the oldest video. Users can configure a Looxcie app to send video to e-mail addresses and to social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
For those who say, “Finally, a way to record continuous eye-level video!” the Looxcie will be a welcome addition. Users, however, will have to be satisfied with the Looxcie’s video quality. The video, shot at a resolution of 320 by 480 pixels at 15 frames per second, is decidedly low- resolution.
