A man who was working on the roof of Nederland High School was airlifted to University of Colorado Hospital Friday after he suffered burns from 500-degree tar.
The man, Jose Diaz, 26, was burned when the tar splashed onto his arms, legs, hands and face, according to a news release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
Diaz’s condition was unknown, but the release said Diaz was conscious and breathing when deputies responded.
