Two women have been arrested after a home invasion in southern El Paso County in which a stun gun was used to immobilize the victim.
The suspects in last Saturday’s burglary were identified as Wendy Nagle, 43, and Darlene Griffith, 33, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said after three suspects knocked on a door in the 300 block of Greensboro South, the victim opened the door and was immediately incapacitated by the stun gun.
The trio then burglarized the home before fleeing.
An El Paso County deputy sheriff, responding to a report of a burglary in progress, was outside the residence when the suspects used their car to try to run him down, according to investigators.
He was able to jump out of the way but not able to stop the car.
The victim told deputies the suspects included two people wearing masks and a woman who did not have her face covered.
As a result of the investigation, Nagle was charged with attempted first-degree murder of a peace officer, first-degree burglary, and conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary.
Griffith is charged with use of a stun gun, attempted first-degree murder of a peace officer, first-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary.
Griffith is being held on a $100,000 bond; Nagle on a $50,000 bond. The women are being held in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
