This is the season for political debate. Some of the most profound meditations of our time take place at the high-minded Buntport Theater, which stages “The Great Debate” on the third Tuesday of every month. With an election looming that could change the course of our nation, what better time for this month’s battle to the verbose death, “Bacon … Or Kevin Bacon?” Expert teams pursued victory with venomously loquacious fervor.

Team Bacon included recent Comedy Works headliner Adam Cayton-Holland, local actor Jake Walker, comedian Liberty Gordon and Buntport Theater ensemble member Erik Edborg. Team Kevin Bacon included comic Andrew Orvedahl, local actor Jim Hunt, Buntport supporter Denise Pimple and Buntport ensemble member Evan Weissman.

No one got out smelling pretty. But following an audience poll, bacon won by 10 votes.
