ORLANDO, Fla.—The Powerball jackpot is expected to grow to an estimated $87 million for Saturday after no one matched all six of the numbers in the midweek drawing.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were 20, 24, 25, 53 and 59. The Powerball was 15 and the Power Play was 5.
Players matching all five numbers and the Powerball would have won or shared the $72 million jackpot.
Three tickets sold in New Hampshire, New Jersey and West Virginia matched the first five numbers only to win $200,000 each.
Colorado’s top prize was $500 each for 21 Power Play tickets that matched other number combinations.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
It’s now played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
