RALEIGH, N.C. — Russell Wilson threw a fourth-down touchdown pass to George Bryan with 2:40 left to help North Carolina State rally from a big halftime deficit and beat No. 16 Florida State 28-24 on Thursday night.

Wilson also ran for three scores for the Wolfpack (6-2, 3-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), which trailed 21-7 at the break before ending a three-game losing streak to the Seminoles (6-2, 4-1). With the win, N.C. State surpassed its victory total for last season while earning a key victory in a matchup of Atlantic Division contenders.

Trailing 24-21, the Wolfpack drove to the FSU 1-yard line but failed on three attempts to get into the end zone before Wilson found Bryan after a play-action fake for an easy score.

Florida State drove to the N.C. State 4 in the final minute, but Christian Ponder fumbled on what appeared to be a play-action fake and Nate Irving pounced on the ball with 48 seconds left to seal the win.

Blackmon didn’t break NCAA rules

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State officials have determined that star receiver Justin Blackmon did not break NCAA rules while attending a Dallas Cowboys game earlier this week.

The university released a statement stating that the compliance office had consulted with the NCAA and determined that Blackmon and other football players who went to the game Monday night didn’t break any rules.

Blackmon was suspended for the 20th-ranked Cowboys’ game Saturday at Kansas State (5-2, 2-2 Big 12) after he was arrested on a DUI charge on his way back from the game.

Spartans reinstate Rucker

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State said it is reinstating defensive back Chris L. Rucker after his completion of an eight-day jail stint following a drunken-driving arrest.

Coach Mark Dantonio said it would be Rucker’s decision whether he travels with the team when the No. 5 Spartans play Saturday at No. 18 Iowa.

Rucker, a senior, started 11 games last season and the first six this season for the Spartans.

Footnotes.

Athletic director Jack Swarbrick promised there would be a full investigation into the death of Declan Sullivan, a 20-year-old junior from Long Grove, Ill., who died Wednesday when a strong gust of wind swept across Notre Dame’s practice football field before a tower toppled, killing him.

• Penn State coach Joe Paterno appears to be leaning toward naming Matt McGloin the starter Saturday night against Michigan with Rob Bolden recovering from a possible head injury.

• Florida coach Urban Meyer said receiver Chris Rainey will play Saturday against Georgia. Rainey, suspended the last five games after he was arrested on an aggravated stalking charge, will split time at running back and receiver.
