Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesman Yao Jian said Tuesday that China’s exports of rare-earth minerals used in high-tech products will be reduced in 2011 from 2010 levels, Kyodo News reported, citing Chinese state media.
The report did not say by how much the quotas would be reduced. China said in July it would reduce export quotas for rare earths in 2010 by 40 percent from a year earlier.
