The Dumb Friends League will receive approximately 25 dogs today that were rescued from puppy mills in Kansas and Missouri.
The National Mill Dog Rescue, based in Colorado Springs, drove to Kansas and Missouri to pick up the dogs after law enforcement officers raided the operations.
Two weeks ago, the organizations took in 93 puppy-mill dogs from out-of-state puppy mills.
Many of the dogs will require foster care and medical attention before they are put up for adoption, but according to a news release from the Dumb Friends League, some of the dogs will be available for adoption beginning Monday.
