American Banker has named John Ikard, First Bank Holding Co. chief executive and president, as its Community Banker of the Year.
Ikard was recognized for expanding Colorado’s largest homegrown bank’s community involvement over the past decade, in particular the creation of a policy that allows individual bank locations to donate 2 percent of profits to local charities.
Last year, FirstBank donated $3.4 million to Colorado nonprofits. Ikard was one of six bank executives recognized in various categories in the trade publication’s “Best in Banking” report.
