DENVER—Denver police are examining an SUV that fits the description of one that hit a pregnant woman and took off.

Police tell The Denver Post that it’s too early to say whether the black 1993 Chevy Blazer is the one that struck 27-year-old Laura Gorham Dec. 9 as she crossed the street. She was 34 weeks pregnant and her baby boy, who was delivered at the hospital, didn’t survive.

Gorham is recovering from her injuries.

The SUV was found in a parking lot at a Walmart store and impounded Thursday. No one has been arrested, and police have declined to release the names of the vehicle’s owners.

Detective John White says it could take days to complete tests on the SUV.
