Boulder County Sheriff’s arrested 22-year-old Fernando Crespo-Quiroz Saturday on suspicion of looting homes burned by the Fourmile Canyon fire.
Authorities believe Crespo-Quiroz was stealing copper wiring and other metals from at least two homes, said Sgt. Lori Cox. Neighbors called in suspicious activity.
Crespo-Quiroz faces a class five felony charge of possessing burglary tools, punishable by up to three years in prison.
He also faces misdemeanor charges for criminal trespass and theft of less than $500.
